Here are some books that have helped our contributors grow!
Fathered by God [John Eldredge]
John Eldredge takes his readers on a journey through spiritual stages of maturity (boyhood, cowboy, warrior, lover, king, and sage). A useful guide for all who are trying to discover who they are, what stage of maturity they are in, and the benefits/boundaries/responsibilities that come with each stage. An incredible book of self-discovery, healing, and direction!
Quarter-Life Calling [Paul Sohn]
Absolutely recommend this book for those who are meandering through life trying to "figure things out." Paul shares with incredible transparency his own journey of discovering his calling, even after "having made it" and encourages each reader to discover what his/her individual God-given calling is based on the way that God has created him/her. The book reads like a conversation and is a must-read for everyone - even those beyond their twenties and those who have yet to hit them. As a pastor, I know that this is one of those books to have multiple copies of in my bookshelf for those who come to seek counsel.
Upward, Inward, Outward [Daniel Fusco]
There is an order to learning how to love. We cannot love others without first (truly) loving ourselves and we cannot love ourselves without first loving God and being loved by Him. This book is a simple, practical guide to loving God (upward), loving ourselves (inward), and loving others (outward). There is also a bible study companion version of this book.
